DONDE EMPIEZA LA LUZ – MANUEL ESPINOSA – EXPOSICIÓN INAUGURAL EN PIERO ATCHUGARRY LA PERLA

Exposición inaugural en la Galería Piero Atchugarry – La Perla: «Donde empieza la luz», dedicada a Manuel Espinosa (1912-2006, Buenos Aires), figura central en la historia del modernismo argentino.

Curada por Agustina Espinosa y Bárbara Espinosa, familiares del artista, junto con la curadora Ayelén Vázquez, la exposición ofrece una oportunidad única para descubrir el lenguaje refinado y sensible de la abstracción geométrica que definió la práctica de Espinosa, revelando una obra de intensidad serena y mirada sostenida.

El título, «Donde empieza la luz», evoca tanto el papel generador de la luz en la obra de Espinosa como la inauguración de La Perla, marcando un inicio compartido y un momento de reflexión, continuidad y un nuevo comienzo.

Curated by Agustina Espinosa and Bárbara Espinosa, members of the artist’s family, along with Ayelén Vázquez, curator of the Estate, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to encounter the refined and sensitive language of geometric abstraction that defined Espinosa’s practice, revealing an oeuvre of quiet intensity and sustained looking.

The title, donde empieza la luz (where the light begins), evokes both the generative role of light within Espinosa’s work and the opening of La Perla itself—marking a shared beginning and a moment of reflection, continuity, and a new beginning!
